... Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am
EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from midnight tonight
to 6 am EST Thursday for the western Adirondacks... Lake George
Saratoga region... Mohawk Valley... Schoharie valley... greater
capital district... northern Catskills... southern Vermont and the
northern Berkshires.

A complex winter storm will impact our region starting around
midnight tonight and continue through Wednesday and into much of
Wednesday night. By the time the snow tapers off later Wednesday
night 6 to 16 inches of snowfall accumulation is expected... with
the greatest accumulations likely to occur from the southern
Adirondacks and Mohawk Valley east through the Lake George
Saratoga region into southern Vermont. Southern portions of the
warning area including the greater capital district to the
northern Berkshires may mix with sleet and or freezing Wednesday
afternoon into Wednesday evening. Any ice accumulation is expected
to be a tenth of an inch or less with up to half an inch of sleet

Snow will overspread the region from southwest to northeast late
tonight... as low pressure moves from the Tennessee Valley to the
mid Atlantic region. A few inches of snow accumulation is
expected by the Wednesday morning commute. The snow will be heavy
at times on Wednesday before tapering off during the second half
of Wednesday night... as the low pressure system moves from
southeast New York Wednesday evening to the Canadian Maritimes
Thursday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
