Thank you, Bud. I think there are other reasons that will ultimately decide me to replace these boots anyway. I think they're a bit wide, certainly in back, since the liners have "broken in." I also think they may have a touch too much forward cuff lean for me. I tried on a pair of Nordica Supercharger Blowers briefly the other day and they seem to be tighter side to side and a bit more upright. In the meantime, I've shimmed my ski bindings to the point where both skis are flat (on carpet) and skiied them that way. Amazingly better. It took 2 degrees on the left and 1 on the right. May have pushed my left knee a bit too far inward but turning is no longer an apprehensive undertaking. This weekend I will try lifting the toe pieces to see how that feels. All of this experimenting is: 1) fun, 2) educational, 3) really helping my confidence on skis. Once I have a good feel for what I like it will be time to boot shop in earnest. At that point, I'll get rid of all my shim stock and get them planed so they work on all my skis and any demos I may try. Next weekend I'm going to Alta and a friend wants me to try his boards which he says are 110 underfoot... I'm having to take duct tape and bontex!
