I'll try to make a point of meeting up with you at 10 ish.

I'm not as familiar with Copper as some of the other resorts, but I'll find my way and will have some other locals around to point me in the right direction.

Ashley and I are about to leave for AB. Lookin forward to seeing you guys.

Black helmet, blue and gray jacket, and gray pants...See ya soon!

TC,

I'll be there at some point with the Olivia and Alexandra.   WE probably won't make it at 8:15 but I will call your cell when we get out and we can go from there.  AS an FYI Solitude is the building at the top of the American Eagle lift which is the one to lookers left as you look up the hill from Jacks.

Thanks UGASkiDawg.  We'll be waiting for the call!!!

Update on the events of the past few days:

Keystone surprised us with some nice snow in the North Bowl.  Mr TC actually skied it three times.  After lunch the trees were the playground of choice and a great work out for my sorry legs :)

Segbrown, COSkigirl, JMD and Geoffda all met up with the Michigan posse!  I'll start a TR when I get a few minutes to do so, but until then, you can see the grins this day held! :D

Saturday at Abasin was a great day of skiing but quite the Zoo!

We managed to meet up with Geoffda for the morning session but missed Cgeib until lunch time,  sup with that!?  He was there all morning and kept missing us.  Our loss, for sure.   The Gnar got there late with his lovely wife, which I met long enough to say hi then we expected them to meet up for lunch but never saw them.

Next time?

More when I get the official TR up.

Until then, Copper sunday!!!!

Oh, that's the Utah Junction parking lot on the Mary Jane side.

I wore the girls out today (skied till 4 then went snowmobiling and hot tubbing) and they both are demanding we get up early and meet you for first chair.  Alexandra can't stand that her sister met you and she didn't.  We'll see how early Dad can motivate after today but we'll be out as early as we can get out.

Sorry I couldn't make it up to meet you guys.  I'm gonna have to take a raincheck.  Got too much going on the home front right now.  Can't wait to see some pics of your trip.

I thought of you when we got rolling.  We had several folks join up with us today, including Live4ski from the East Coast, to the phenomenal micro bears(AKA UGASkiDawgs girls) to the locals who were eager to kick our butts all over the Mountain!

What an incredible day!

Pics will come, but now I sleep so I can be ready for the rigors of MJ tomorrow.

Hey, guess who I ran into today at Okemo?

(are you guessing?....)

Dan Egan!!

It was truly bizarre as I came down and was talking to this woman who was waiting by the lineup area when Dan skis up!  The woman was skiing with Dan and some other friends!! Unfort. didn't have time to ski with them...

I guess I lucked out and missed the guy giving lessons in the Keystone parking lot. :)

Did Dan ask where his skis were?

When you get a chance ask Bob how well I took care of his skis :D

The weather report says 29* with wind gusts up to 30 mph at MJ/Winterpark.
I think my extra warm thermals are in order, eh?

Forecast for peaks above 9,000 feet
Gusty west winds at 25 to 40 mph will continue in the mountains above timberline and along the higher eastern slopes through 830 am. Gusts up to 65 mph will occur from time to time. Over the Front Range foothills...expect some gusts to 50 mph over exposed areas.

Our crew is planning to go to Breckenridge this morning.  Will the lifts to the peaks run in these conditions?

Not likely.  Imperial Express often goes on wind hold.  Breckenridge is the one place I would absolutely avoid in high wind conditions as even the lower lifts get battered.

Thanks CoSkiGirl.  How would Keystone be?

Keystone should be fine.  Its pretty rare for the lifts to blow down there.

I don't know why but this wording cracked me up this morning.  But I concur, Keystone is pretty protected from the wind and is definitely my choice for windy days.

Trek,

You should talk to Bob about the position of your bindings.  When I tried the twisted twins with them moved forward from the indicated position it was much better.  Probably could go + 2-3cm's.  Have Bob look at them while you're there.

I suspect Bob and cgeib are hanging out in the parking lot bushes waiting to catch that guy making 'instructional' tapes.

Well folks, it was time to move this GTG to TR's!

I was going to start a new TR thread but this one had so many great pics and chats about the ski times, it deserved a place in TR's

I have a few pics on my phone because I left my camera behind at my SIL's house today.  Will have to transfer those when I get home, but for now, here are a few pics from the previous days..........

Is it me, or do those two dress like the trees? (segbrown, coskigirl)

I'm a shadow, she's a tree!

Segbrown, it was tons of fun skiing with you and CoSkigirl.

It makes me giggle thinking about the three of us calling out to find each other in those trees.  We could all see Trekchick in her bright orange Kiltec but, yeah, Segbrown and I did a brilliant job of camouflaging ourselves.  Oops.  Note to anyone else, if you ever get a chance to follow Segbrown through the trees (or Little Ms. Segbrown for that matter!) do it!

It makes me laugh even harder when I think of me nearly skiing into 4 snowboarders, doing what snowboarders often do in trees who were camped out on the bottom side of a tree that I decided to turn around.    Then later that same run TC nearly took out a stopped skier when her tips decided not to cooperate. Like all good in control skiers TC laid it down and stopped within inches of the guy who was just standing there cracking up.

It was a fabulous day.  Or, in the words of the sage Segbrown "It did not suck".

I had an awesome time guiding the TC crew around my fave ski spot, Mary Jane/Winter Park on Monday.  We did some fast cruisers, some slow cruisers, a bit of trees and a fair amount of bumps.  It was a great day.  We did take a few pics that I'll post up as soon as my butt isn't either skiing or being lazy =)

It was a great day! Thanks to you both!

And it was also fun to visit with Terry, Tom, and Laurie, even though we didn't get to ski together. Dinner hit the spot ...

This would be miss Olivia, showing Terry to one of her favourite trails, or, perhaps she is challenging him to a race.

So Trek basically nearly took out a dude, and COskigirl nearly took out 4 ! Gee, is there something you'd like to share with the group?

Btw, I don't want to comment too much based on one photo, but uh if we were picking teams I might pick little Olivia over Mr. Storm Trooper!

Sounds like fun out there....
