|Hey, maninthemoon, if you intend to participate in this discussion and want to be rude, you had better be damned good and know your stuff. A little humility around here will go a long way.
Bollocks. Why stuff around with a whole lot of half-truth nonsense. It’s like a school marms convention down there sometimes. Rude pphhtttzzz, crap. I reckon a paying customer would find your superior attitude a rude waste of money.
What I have said has been reinforced by you all. WV in particular. There is no ACTIVE EDGING going on. It is cause and affect. Throw the body around, add some inclination and of course the ski will find some edge BUT the skier has no idea how, why, what is going on with the edges or what to do with the edge he\she so haphazardly slides with each erratic change of direction. This said; HOW the hell does “PARK AND RIDE” come into the equation or any in-depth discussion on MA edging.
Furthermore if that skier were to present to an instructor EDGING would be about the last topic you would discuss with him\her. There are far too many other basics to fix first.
Dchan. I believe you are studying for ski instructor status. Don’t do the following if you want to pass.
Examiner: Look at that guy; what is going on with his edges?
Nettie: Park and Ride sir!!!
Examiner: Really, would you like to explain that term for us?
Nettie: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzfffffffffffftttttttttttttttt !!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Nettie. It is better to face humiliation on line than at exam time.
The term I used was ACTIVE edging. Dchan makes sure you listen to the examiner and isolate your, in the moment, MA from any locker room jargon you have heard. Looks like you already know that though. Good luck. You are very much on the right track.
|Also, allowing your video to be posted in here for the world to see and for some of the best instructors on the planet to dissect and analyzye takes a lot of guts. Your derogatory comments don't do a lot to encourage others to post their videos here. BTW, I'd be curious to see your skiing. Why don't you post something?
Oh my, no work this week, feeling a little testy. Don’t worry summer is coming. It won’t be long till your back at Wallmart in an expert role.
THIS IS NO TIME FOR FEAR
