What's up with the Fischer "hull" and 'notched out base/tail'? Anyone translate?
The "hull" tip has been done before by Dynastar. It is claimed to reduce push from the tip in 3-d snow. The Watea tail is a combo powder channel/skin notch/bottle opener.

The Dynastar ("Sultan") shown is the replacement for the Venerable L8K (Wood/metal, 85mm, full sidewall)

I think I may have skied on the Bandit 96 today (it will be called Phantom 97 over here)

Everyone throw away all your current skis immediately, the new stuff will improve your skiing, improve your sex life, improve your looks and will take the world by storm.

Oh....and they all will be shipped next week and will be half price immediately. Get in line now so you don't miss out.

Interesting stuff. Skis working like a boat on the front. Will the 'hull' make the tip heavier ??
Looks like Fischer's getting creative on materials management ... they apparently took all the Ptex out of the tips of their race stock skis to make the boat nose on the Wateas

I like the french girl showing the skis. Does she come with the Wateas?

Correction:

Upon further review, the ski I was on yesterday was the new model (Phantom 87) not the 97. All other comments still apply.

I have 3 Dynastar models with the hull shaped tip: the Intuitiv 74, the '06 8800, and the '07 8K. They're all great skis.

The newer Dynastars (the 8K and Mythic Rider) beginning in '08 do not have the hull shaped tip.

If the hull shaped tip was good through the '07 model year, why was it not good thereafter?

dynastar sultans

Does anyone know the dimensions and flex
characteristics for the 2010 Dynastar
Sultans ( both 80 and 85 )?

Will the Mythic be replaced by a Sultan 90
or thereabouts?

Thx,

Tom

Mythic Rider will still be around next year.

New Sultans seem to have turn radius a tad shorter than 8000's.
