I had an unbelievably good experience with Extremely Canadian, eight years ago. It was Presidents weekend and I had a friend of a friend type of deal for a guide. It was dumping big time, 50cm each night and the first morning the guy doesn't show!
Lifts haven't opened yet and the line is starting to get big. So I walked over to the Extremely Canadian booth and started to talk with the owner, super nice guy! I asked if he had any guides for the day?
He didn't, but he said there was only one guy in the top group and if I didn't like the set up, I could bail at noon and pay nothing!
The other skier in the group was good and the first day was with a total ripper, Felix Tangay. The top was closed and the lift lines were HUGE. But we got to cut lines and we skied untracked stuff all day that I wouldn't have ever found in the p soup.
The next day all the guides were fighting over who got to take our group. Joe Lammers won and our first run we hiked up something and at the top were Vincent Dorian and Shawn Nesbitt filming? They were like " your bringing clients up here"? Lammer said "**** yeah, these guys rip". We let them ski it first, but after we came down, they gave us both a "nice run".
Last day was with Tom Winter, another great guide and a really good skier. Overall, I can't say enough about the guides or the service. There's some hairball terrain there and I am sure I wouldn't have skied it without having them there and them giving me a little push! Having a guide that skis everyday and knows the terrain is priceless!
