Yet another great day today. Skied with Bob Peters in the AM then the rest of the crowd in the the afternoon. When ever you get to ski with Bob, regarding conditions, listen to every word from him and treat it as gospel. Pics to come later. We are off to Bubba's for dinner and will report back.
I spent the morning skiing with Philpug, Fireball, Spikedog, Mengel, and Tov (who I think is just a friend of Bears rather than a Bear herself). I took a bunch of photos, some of which follow.
Another bluebird inversion day here at Jackson Hole. Blue skies hard but edgeable snow (which is the way it's been for many days in a row).
First up, we skied some groomers. These photos are from Grand run:

Spikedog getting stylish:
Mengel picking his line:
Tov cruisin' freeheel:
And displaying her duct tape pant repair handiwork from yesterday:
Fireball getting nice angles on the groomer:

More to come elsewhere on the hill.
One thing I learned today. I have this tendency to stop pushing the shutter button when someone starts going over. I learned that I need to push the button even more. I missed a couple of pretty spectacular crashes today.
Our next stop was Buffalo Bowl, one of the Lower Faces.
I did a little bit of "persuading" to get our skiers to drop in here since we were the ONLY skiers on any of the Lower Faces this morning. It turned out that everyone in the group had a pretty good time. Smooth, hard, chalky snow with mild moguls.
We then went up the tram and skied Rendezvous Bowl (a bit, "crunchy", shall we say?). From there, we motored down Rendezvous Trail and then dropped onto Sublette Ridge, another of the Lower Faces. The group was completely at my mercy at that point, because there's pretty much no way out of Sublette other than to ski it to the bottom. Ha!
Well, it turned out that the skiing wasn't too bad.
And I'm bummed I missed the Bubba's night. At least I think you guys went there??? My early night got shot down as just as I was about to cut out early (at least try to)- a bootfit walked in the door at about 6:30. If he wasn't such a nice guy, I'd have shot him down- so I just got home at 9:50PM (the Green Line sucks- really slow).
Finn: I called to see if you guys got wild and went to the brew pub or anything- no answer was a prudent answer
I'll soon post my pics of the day- though I doubt they'll be as good as Bob's.
what great pics! Awesome... I have some good pics as well. My laptops is all screwed up and I can't load them. Anyway, had a killer time with the Bears last night for sure! Nice shot of Phil, and that shot of Ben was great, See J-Hole snow is very tasty..... Great gang, great fun, I have some pics from dinner last night and a very odd plate of ribs and potatoes........ Phil, Can I post it?
Tough to go back to work this morning after a day like yesterday. Lots of fun, and wow, nice photos. I'll try to post mine soon. Trust to Bob to find the good stuff, plus pointers on the subtle differences between couloirs, ditches, and gullys. No-Doz and energy drinks got me home last night; glad to have dry roads. What a fun group!
