we all flex skis. in the shop. on the hill. at your bud's house. we love to flex brand-new skis. I have an idea for people that are trying to determine if a ski is the right flex for them, (but the ski has to be mounted to do this). stand in the skis on a flat surface and rock forward and back with about the amount of power you ski with. Is the ski responding? Are the tips or tails coming off the snow? how far? can you control the degree of camber reversal you are creating? I believe this to be a great way to see if the flex of a ski is compatible with your strength and weight. If you can't work it this way, it will be taking you for a ride on the hill, bet on it.
