Got many first tracks at Plattekill this past Sunday. 8" of light powder at the base, and 12" up top! No grooming on the double chair side of the mountain at all! Returning home to a white Long Island on Monday evening was wonderful as well.
Thus being an optimist I consider this the absolute truth that it will
be the best ski season ever!
PS for R-R. First downhill ski run I ever made was at Bethpage, where after falling I was knocked unconscious by a toboggan. I skied Bald Hill as a child as well, but kind of remember it being out somewhere near Riverhead? At least it seemed so very far away at the time!
