Atomic Jackets?

I just bought an Atomic jacket at Marshalls yesterday for $100. When I checked Atomic's website, they do not sell jackets. Is mine a fake? Or did they just discontinue making jackets?

Here's a picture.

Not made by Atomic, but by a clothing company for Atomic. Most of the ski retailers have clothing, but few make it themselves.

So this jacket is...what should I say... "Atomic" approved? It's not a fake?
Why can I not find Atomic jackets in stores or online, except for eBay

Looks like a pretty solid jacket for $100. Try it out, see if you like it and if you do, don't worry about whether it's a "fake" or not.

Licensed branding.

$100.00, you got a great deal! The lowest I could find on ebay was $179.00, god I wish we had Marshalls here in Quebec.

Saw a few of them at TJMaxx and by all accounts of sight and looking at the information on the tags they appear to be pretty solid coats. For $100 its great coat.

Thanks guys. I bought this jacket over a Spyder because it seemed more insulated.

Not so much "approved" but "branded". Name brand products are being subbed out to outsourcing companies all the time.

They could be promotional items that are not typically sold in stores. That includes stuff that sale reps give out. Keep in mind, Marshalls and TJ Maxx for the most part sell supplus items from other stores and suppliers. It is anyone's guess where the merchandise come from. However, they are not fake, at least not knowingly.

I will email Atomic about this. For the time being, I like the jacket!

I bought this same jacket at Marshalls, but in Black and White. I called Atomic about the warranty and they informed me that there was none since they did not make them. They only make equipment, no softgoods, period. They said they have had several calls about these jackets in TJ Maxx & Marshalls. I'm not knocking TJ or Marshalls, they sell good quality products. My concern was the warmth and endurance of the jacket on the slopes. I went back and returned it and bought a Marker jacket. Things that concern me on the Atomic jacket were, no labeling for the insulation and fabric material. The main zipper was really cheap and on the wrong side of the jacket. Looking at the main tag, it did not have a UPC label like most apparel would that are sold in stores in the U.S. The rep at Atomic believed these jackets were "knock-offs" from China. This disappointed me since I loved the styling of the jacket and fit. However, I did not want to find out that the jacket would keep me warm at the top of a mountain. If you are buying this jacket for "city-everyday" wear, you may be okay. If you are buying this for going down the slopes, you may reconsider it and go with something else. The TJ MAXX and Marshalls here both still had other coats to choose from like Marker and Spyder, on clearance. Both of these coats are backed with a lifetime guarantee of defects that they will fix for free, (within reason). I was in the same boat as you with this decision this weekend; however I believe the Marker Warrior coat with Thinsulate insulation & Dermizax fabric I picked the better choice. Good Luck, I hope this helps you decide. I wanted to share what I found out, since I was in the same spot!

Thank you. The thing that concerns me is the weak zipper and it's on the wrong side. However I do think it's a very nice jacket. Ugh this really annoys me
