Heads up, should be very easy to spot them.

Our own sitski Andy no less! How low can a person get, stealing from a disabled skier?
That sucks!

Hope they catch the thief.

IIRC last year SitskiAndy had his van break down and we rallied around him to help out, then he dropped out of site.
Hope he recoups his loss on these skis!

The Karmic wheel has an amazing way of working everything out...it takes some people people a long time to learn that. He'll get his..that's for sure.

I hope that karma jumps up and grabs the thief in the nether region, causing continuous pain and embarassment for the rest of his miserable life.

Absolutely pathetic!

Ski thefts have been huge this year. Our local news had a story on last night about a rash of thefts at one our local hills. A buddy that works at another local hill says they've seen far more thefts this year than in the past.

I guess when the economy sucks this stuff is bound to happen.

The bright side of the Andy situation (if there is one) is that he is a sponsored athlete and these are his back ups, as opposed to being the primary ski of some kid that can't afford to get new ones. Sucks nuts that his sponsor who will now have to replace these is a small cool company though. If someone sponsored by K2 got their stuff ganked I wouldn't feel as bad. I hate seeing the little guy getting stuck.
Another positive is that these are relatively unusual skis in a huge length that aren't even a matched pair. One of them is a factory blem to I believe, something about the logo on the topsheet. Should be easy to spot, especially since (I'm assuming) most shop rats in that region know those boards and have heard this story.

Lets hope the thief is not a Bear or Mag, if they are, they already know the deep shit they are in and will probably ditch them in a dumpster somewhere.

There was a story in Beaver Creek a month ago about a guy who had 5 pairs of skis stolen from his car-top, while parked.

Apparently, the thief later had second thoughts about his act, and returned one pair to the vehicle with a note expressing remorse, and instructions where to locate the other missing skis (all recovered).

Sometimes people act on raw impulse, before considering consequences or self-worth.

The thief in this case may conclude his stolen goods aren't so sweet - especially when he realizes they're mismatched, cosmetically unique, and stolen from a sitskier. Of course, now that word is out, returning the goods may be riskier than the initial theft.

RECOVERED

The skis have been recovered and are on their way to the Xgames. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'm curious how they have been recovered?
