My daughter is about 5' tall not sure on her weight, shes pretty thin and wirey...... like i said, she has taken a great interest and did very well her only trip out. When i was in high school i used to teach beg. skiers at a local hill. So i taught her what i thought was right: started out on the bunny hill (barely a hill at all, she was bored of that after 4 trips down) the hill is really so small of an incline i was having trouble getting her to turn because it took what little speed you had away. But, i tought her the wedge, and putting pressure on the big toe of right foot made you go left, taught her to stop etc.... also, no poles told her they are at this point, a weapon, not a help. Once we move to a steeper hill she did alot better!!! And had alot more fun ! Told her to make turns all the way down....went in front of her to start and said follow me from one side of the hill to the other etc..... SO, I think she will pick things up very well. I told her i would like her to take a lesson because everything is so diff. than when i skied, dont want to teach any bad habbits to her.
I will start looking around, there is a shop not too far that has been recommended for the boot fitting, so ill probably start there. Id like to get the stuff local incase of problems, also want the help of a qualified staff, instead of online. Hoping at the end of this season, beg. of next ill be able to get good deals on what she needs and not have to go online to save a few bucks. thanks guys for all the help.
