Really? I guess they can be seen that way too....the moon boot part for sure, but then again all ski boots look like they are intended for space missions, the rental part..I dont know. To me the minimalist styling makes me think of a better and uniquely designed boot...even if thats not the case.

The "cool" trend in the custom auto market it the "murdered-out" look, which is basically matte black paint on everything...these boots evoke that trend.

I'm going to have to disagree, it looks like a gapers boot.

Here's the big brother....

**Cuff : Polyurethane
**Removable boot board :Plastic **Ratchet buckle+large strap **Buckle 45° **Comfort heel piece

At 102mm I might even be able to get into them. Whether I want to or not......

Imagine how easily that one will break!

Kinda reminds me of some rear entry Salomons I once had.

Back in the 80's.

I'd say that is dead on.

Richie, what year did you start skiing? Did you ever rent gear?

I do see aesthetically speaking what he sees in them, I too appreciate a minimalist and dark, subdued approach to things. I bet they are warm with the solid front too. That being said they remind me and many others of some truly awful boots and that connection is hard to get over and leads us to think of them as ugly.

Yeah, they do look an awful lot like cheap rear entry boots.

the boot exists because a couple of years ago Salomon took a proposed rental boot and based on the recommendation of one their "new school" dealers renamed it the SPK...tada:
"Hard core, professional jib boot targeted for all day park invasions and superpipes. This new freestyle boot design is one-of-a-kind with many innovations for stomping any landing"

and yet they killed the soft boot which was probably a better jib boot from the get go....so insecure...
