FYI- Vail Resorts EPIC PASS HOLDERS!

FYI-

Did you know that when you purchased your EPIC PASS, you also got 10,000 "Peaks Points"? That is enough for a free group lesson at Vail or any of the VR areas. A great opportunity to get a day of tech polishing! We have already had cases where small groups of Epic Pass holders have gotten together and created their own groups , ala a pvt lesson, and requested which instr they wanted (if available)

KLKaye and several of her friends were out last week and used that idea in getting me to take them around on a crowded powder day... We skied the whole mtn that day!

There are several discounts coming down the pipeline in the next couple of weeks for both EPIC PASS holders and non- holders.

The first takes effect today, when an All Day PVT lesson has been discounted 20%, down to $555! This discount is good thru Feb 8th. (any bets it will be extended again, after the Pres Weekend?)

In the many years I have been teaching here at Vail, this is the first time I have ever seen them discount a PVT! I can only suggest that they are finally coming to grips with the idea that the season IS being affected by the collapsing economy. (No way they'd ever admit they have been overcharging our guests for years!)

So, what's the deal Ric? I see that "Houston sucks" and I heard a rumor that you're back in town and maybe even TEACHING again!?! I thought you told me that you were done with that???

Tiff and I will have to get up there and hook up with you one day, at least for an apres ski drink or two...

I already purchased two 6 day lift tickets for Vail for Feb 14, to 21, which was more expensive then the week before *pouts*. Was it a bad idea to purchase early (? i wanted to be sure i got the pass in the mail before leaving.

Lady Salina- Check in the ticket office when you arrive in Vail, and ask them if they would refund the previously purchased tix in exchange for the cheaper ones. They have been very accomodating of late....

Thanks Vail snopro, i'll check on that; or maybe they'd could just toss in a free lesson or something to old Boot and I, if i do pay more.

Very good to know. Why didn't I know that?

Vail instructors appear to be excellent skiers, and I'm sure, good teachers.

We'll definitely take advantage. Who knows, maybe you'll be the lucky instructor.

How many people are required for a group?

Also, what's a decent $ tip for the instructor of a group lesson?

$555 at discounted prices for a private? I must've been living under a rock (or, poorer than I realized). I hope instructors get a decent chunk of that.

I think you get 6 friend tickets with the Epic Pass. The friend ticket information is available through the Colorado Pass Club website, of which all Epic Pass holders are members. Click on Ski With a Friend just above "What's Happening in 2008-2009." You'll need to enter you Epic Pass number.

I haven't seen any info on the 1/2 price tickets. Can someone post where to find it? Thanks!

Kneale and Monique are tremendous individuals. I am fortunate to have spent some time with them.
