Did I buy too short?

I just picked up a set of '09 Volkl bridge 177's at a great price, and got a free bomber pair of bindings from a buddy. I'm 6'2, 180 pound east coast skier (one or two weekends out west), advanced intermediate. I would not qualify as an expert...I can do double black but not comfortably. I skied on these skis once and LOVE them, but on a smaller hill.

They were basically an impulse buy to replace some PEs (179) that were stolen. I grabbed the 177, figured I skied 179's...what is 2 cm..done deal. They didn't carry the 185's at the shop. Now reading up on them I'm worried that I should have tried to find the 185's.

Should I feel buyers remorse or forget about it, hit the mountain, and have fun?

K2s run shorter than listed. Those will ride similar. I think you will probably enjoy them just fine, but going longer is probably in your future as your skills improve.

IMO, they're a bit on the short side for someone your size but you said you skied them and loved them. I take it the ones you demoed were 177's? If so just fuggeddaboudit and go enjoy the sweet deal you scored.

Yeah I skied the 177s. I bought them figuring this would be a ski I wouldn't outgrow in a season.....

I look at a ruler and see what 8 cm looks like and I can't really see that make a major difference.....but like I said, I'm not an expert. I think the 177 might be better for the trees and bumps that I get in the east...eh?

The latter.

Size is pretty subjective, but the 177 doesn't sound at all wrong.

A 177cm for an advanced 180lbs skier in the east? not bad at all, go ski.

I think you did good....Other areas I'd consider 3 inches a great loss.

They are a twin tip so they ski shorter. More like a 172. I still would not worry about it unless this is your go to powder ski.
