Discount Whistler lift tickets?

Are there still any sources for discount Whistler lift tickets? I know 7-Elevens used to offer them, although I'm not sure whether you had to be a BC/WA resident. I'm heading there for 5 days starting Jan 29. I guess as a last resort you can get the advance booking discount through their website.

As far as I know, the 7-11 deal is still on. They don't ask for ID so you can be from anywhere.

The 7-11 deal is still on, although I think the Edge Card is a bit better. BC/AB/WA residency for the Edge Card though, I believe.

The 7-11 deal works for anyone.

The $CDN isn't at $0.64US as it was in the good-old-days, but it's still at a value where discount Whistler lift tickets are a screaming deal.

Hello Chris and everybody else!!!

After your trip, please let us know about the ticket purchase.
Price?
Edge Card ?
And about BC/AB/WA residency ?

Also, is this 7-11 of Squamish you are talking about ?

We are thinking in to go to Whistler next April else and will be pleased about such information.

Thanks !!!

The Edge card is for Canadian and WA residents. It's a great deal, if you qualify.

It's any 7-11 in the greater Van (and Squamish) area.

I called the 7-11 in Squamish and they said you needed BC/WA ID. Is this really the case or do they just not check? I think it's only $1-2 cheaper a day than the advance rate through the website, so it may not be worth the risk.

Not sure where you live, but the 2 for 1 deal through shell gas stations is decent from the WA & OR stations . Also, there seems to be some conflicting blackout dates so check carefully - but they appear to work for your timeframe.

They have never asked for ID when I've been in there. Even if the discount is small, it's much simpler to buy them there than at the Whistler ticket window where they harass you for a ton of personal information before they'll hand over the ticket. It takes forever!

What I meant in my previous post is that you can get almost the same discount by buying in advance through whistlerblackcomb.com. Might not be worth risking paying window rate if I get IDed at a 7-11.

I am restarting this thread to see if 7-11s (or any other retailer) in the Vancouver area are still offering discounted Whistler lift tickets during the current 2009-2010 season.

As far as I know, the 7-11 deal is still going on.

All 7-11 in Van-Squamish offer the discount tickets. The only one that doesn't is the one in Whistler itself. Anyone can buy them. The EDGE card is restricted to residents of Canada or WA.
The savings aren't huge, but any savings is a good savings, and like someone mentioned, it is easier to buy the ticket at 7-11 than buying at resort in the morning when there is a line up.
