Watch out for the heli skiing deal. Seems pretty cheap, but you climb to the top and get helicoptered from the bottom back to the base area. They've got it bass-ackwards over there.

Their office is open every day from 5-7 (they have a desk in Jean Sports, just uphill from the Tourist Office). Call them during those hours for a discussion.

Well, heli-SKIING is illegal in France. You can use helicopters to ferry you around, but not to get up a mountain to ski. So VdI guides hire helicopters if they ski into the "Fourth Valley" (Bonneval) to get back up, since there is no road or lift connection. Actually, I'm with the French there.

Would've been okay with that IF they were forthcoming with that information beforehand. However, we found out about it DURING the hike up.

Went with Eric Berthon (ex world mogul champion) from top ski val. Lovely bloke and amazing skier - skied some tight trees in deep powder like it was a GS course. I looked at his skis at the bottom and they were some flimsy touring skis!!! Highly recommend!
