Fritschi already solved all the gripes people have about Dynafits, but at the sacrifice of about a pound a ski weight gain. If the new G3s are in fact 20 oz. heavier than Dynafits then they seem to fall squarely in the middle weightwise, and from what I can tell from the videos on their web site they are less hassel to use than the Dynafits, but still more than the Fritschis. It it good to see competition in the market, but they don't seem to be an advance as much as filling a small niche between the existing choices. Ease of use with lightness and durability is the next step, but this seems to be a half step at best.
PS: I checked the weights, Dynafit LTL 37 oz, G3 Onyx 50 oz, Fritschi FR 70 oz., so the weight difference is not as much as I was told, but I think my logic still holds up.
