Issues with Fischer

Hi, although this is my first log in to the forum, I have been following threads for some time.
I've been looking to buy some Fischer Red Heats and realized that here in the Washington DC area, that almost all of the shops have cleared out all of their Fischer equipment. Is there a problem with Fischer in general, or is it a regional issue?

Hmmm...I know that I've seen them at Ken Jones and the Waterville Valley shop here in NH. They were also at demo day in WV.
I work close to their distribution center in NH...maybe I could drop by and see if all is OK? They look busy over there.
I just bought some '08 Red Heats online, seemed to be plenty of sellers with last season's stuff on various websites.
I don't notice a lot of people posting much about Fischer on this forum. I was happy with several pairs of their XC skis, so felt comfortable getting Fischer downhill skis.

roscoelux, it's way after Christmas, are you really surprised? They sold off what they ordered.

I've noticed the same thing in the mid-west, local dealers tell me that they've cut back their Fischer orders because Fischer had a huge price increase this past season.

Issues with Fischer

I actually notice the absence of Fischer skis in this area before Christmas.

I've had issues finding Fischer equipment in Summit County in the past, bough my pair a few years ago and there were only 2 shops carrying them.

You might want to try calling Bikle's ski shop in Hagerstown. I know that they had the Red Heats earlier in the season - I couldn't tell you if they still have them now. On the bright side, they are on the way to Whitetail or out to Seven Springs/Wisp, so if it's a long drive for you, you could pair it up with a day of skiing afterwards. I'd definitely recommend calling them first though.

Hey jat, d'ya get a pair?

Shaping up for a nice icy weekend at WT, should be a good time to use 'em.

I would say there still around. One of our house mates dropped a new pair Fischer boots in front of my nose while I was laying on the couch in VT last Saturday night. He works at Ken Jones in Manchester NH.

The boots were just my size, happen to have the same size feet as he dose.

I'm sure someone here can find you the Fischers your looking for.
