hi i recently purchased salomon verse 10 pilots. they came with the 710 binding ,but were missing the pins.

question is why did salomon pair up that binding with that ski ?could i use a different pair of bindings with the pilot system? like the 810s or the 910s? any issues?

Unless I'm mistaken, they didn't. My wife has an old pair of Verse 8Ws that came with 710 Pilots, so I suspect that the higher end men's version probably came with 810 or 912 Pilots. But I could be wrong, since IIRC, the Verse was the "recreational" line, while the Scream was intended to be more advanced.

Yes. Specifically, unless they're the Pilot version, you can't use them with the ski. And TTBOMK, the Pilot version was never sold separately.

You may be able to get replacement parts from Salomon. If that doesn't work out for you, my wife's 8Ws have a blown edge and have been reduced to rock ski status, so she might be willing to part with the screws.

It might be possible to just spec out the diameter and length from the pair on my wife's. Unfortunately, I won't be near them until next weekend. Why don't you try Salomon in the meantime and see if they can help you out. IIRC, Salomons of that vintage carry a five-year warranty when sold with Salomon bindings.

Excellent -- I was going to pull the pins this weekend, and now I don't have to.
