My family and I have been invited on a snow skiing trip for next year in Breckenridge. My husband and I have 8 children and we have never been snow skiing....EVER! With eight kids we obviously could not go out and buy the newest and greatest equipment nor do we want to spend a one time rental fortune if at all possible. I have been on line for hours looking at used and new equipment, (boots, skis, poles, ect.) It seems that going the used route might be our only way to afford this adventure and still afford lessons for the children! We understand that the boot is the critical piece of equipment, but we can not find a scale of length and width to complement height and weight for the skis. Is there such a scale? My husband is 6'2", 225 and I am 5'8" 165. Is a ski length of 185cm okay for him ;as a beginner, and 180cm for me also a beginner? We have children ranging from 4 to 19 that we could use help wth also.
