Big Sky: First Timer Looking for accomodation recommendations

Myself and a couple of mates will be visiting Big Sky for the first time on 24th Jan and wondered if anyone here had any recommendations on somewhere to stay, bearing in mind the following:
  • Needs to be in Big Sky & central
  • Not looking to spend mega money
  • Must have decent hot tub!
  • Hotel Or Condo is fine
We've already checked out The Lodge and Huntley's Lodge - anyone stayed at either of these? Quite like the idea of a condo to be honest if anyone has any experience here and can recommend anything.

Min 3/4 nights but could be longer if the snow's good!

Cheers

Stayed at the Huntley last april for the ESA. It was fine -- relatively cheap and comfortable.

Heading up on the 1st for a week - staying at the Cowboy Cabins on the Moonlight side. It may be a bit more than a room but it would meet your other requirements

Check out the Stillwater condos if you want a cheap one. They're the oldest ones we have here so they should be relatively cheap. Not right by the slopes but only about a 5 min walk up the road, maybe less.

Cheers for the condo tips. Would prefer something like this to a hotel to be honest so will check them out see what availability they have.

Condos are located in 2 main areas: on the mountain (not neccesarily ski in/ski out), and the meadow (10-15 minutes to mtn). Both areas may have decent deals depending on location and age. We have a condo at Hidden Village which is just a bit above the meadow, and some "bargains" are available there (& most units have a hot tub). Google condo's for rent by owner, or some of the condo locations (i.e., big sky meadow condo) for some options. There is a free bus from the various locations.

cheers, lonepeak - been struggling to find a decent map of the place, so this is useful to know - appreciated.

be wary of that bus....not the most reliable thing on the planet. It'll usually show up, but don't count on being at your destination by the time that is says on the schedule. The drivers don't seem to have a clue up here.

Give the drivers a six pack and they will get you their in no time
