Hey Taylormatt, our group will be out there Feb 1 - Feb 7. This is our tenth consecutive year making the trip out to JH. Its an awesome place. You and your wife are going to love it. One of the guys in our group is originally from Altoona, PA. Where abouts in PA you from?

We're from the 7 Springs area about an hour SE of Pittsburgh.

The camera will be going, no worries. Whether I stop long enough to use it outside the bars...that's another story.

Anyone willing to show us around, we'd be glad to join up since this is our first time to JH.

Sunday Feb, 1 at the Cowboy Bar before dinner is the plan as of now if anyone wants to meet up.

Taylor - you're going to have a great time! We stayed there last year and it's a great location. They run a private shuttle to the mountain every morning (it picks up at 3 or 4 other places first). It's walking distance to everything downtown and a pretty nice little setup.

If you haven't already, read Bob Peter's 2 guides to skiing Jackson. Last year was my first trip to JH and I printed those guides out and read them in the plane and kept them in my jacket out on the trails the first few days! Better than a trailmap in many cases. Thanks again to Bob for posting those.

In addition, I got a chance to ski with Bob and Dave and some other guys from the website. They are awesome skiiers and i had a ton of fun trying to follow them around the mountain - bribe them with lunch, beer, whatever it takes!

Have fun and leave some of the powder for me please. We're headed there Feb 21st!

I just searched and found Bob's post. Great stuff, I'll be printing out also. Thanks.

I pieced it together myself. Room from JH central reservations on sale. Air online. Lifts on our PSIA discount and we'll grab a taxi from the airport.

Thanks for the tip.

PM me and I'll try and hook up with you during your stay. I wouldn't worry too much about the mountain. Our patrol is the best at what they do and the events of the last week are unlikely to happen again for another 20 years or so. Also when you look at what actually happened, they shone like rock stars. I'm up there every day and I mostly feel safe.

Just book it. you'll be glad you did. As a matter of fact, tetonpwdrjunkie is a stand up guy. You should take a "lesson" with him & get him to show you around the mountain. Nothing like a little insider info when skiing JH. Best dollars you'll ever spend.

I'd be happy to ski with any local that wants to make turns with us or at the least give us a little insight to the good stuff that would be be overlooked in a few days there. I'll shoot you a PM closer to arrival. Thanks for the offer.
