for those who have skis? We are staying in a house about 2 blocks from the resort and some would prefer to keep their skis there at the base. Also, who would you recommend to rent from for those who need equip? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, there's a setup on snow right at the base, at the steps, between PayDay and the kids' school. Very convenient. However, don't leave your boots there! It's outside (in a shed-type structure) and they'll be cold the next morning.

Do NOT rent from the resort's rental shop. It's convenient but unless things have changed massively, the staff know little (many of them had never seen snow and could not ski or board) and I had to do so many on-snow boot adjustments with trail maps it wasn't funny. They invariably rented people boots that were way too big, skis that were way too long for beginners... it was quite poor.

Look at the options down in town... oddly, the Yarrow hotel down near Albertson's had quite a good rental operation. There's 2 big ski shops, cannot remember their names! on the main intersection on Park Ave, that had a very good range of stuff to rent. also there's that big sports chain store (sorry, my memory is not working today) down beside Albertson's that was good for the budget.

There was quite a few ski shops/rental places up around the resort too, but you pay a premium for being so close to the lift.

Merry C Ant! That would be Cole Sports and Jan's- both have rental shops at the resort center as well as their flagship stores on Park Avenue. There's also Utah Ski and Golf under the town lift. They carry a broad selection of high end skis.
