Teeanage daughter twintips - binding ideas?

My daughter got a pair of 2008 Volkl Pearl twin tip skis for Christmas, which are an intermediate ski. Now I am looking for a binding and would appreciate any tips on selecting something appropriate. On her old skis she has a Tyrolia SL70 binding, which is a junior binding that matched well with the junior skis.

She will be 16 soon, is 5' 1", 115 pounds and an improving intermediate who like to fool around with skiing backwards are spins on runs. Not in to parks - rails, etc., but does some small jumps.

Are railflex something to look at for twin tips?

Any input is appreciated.

Salomon Z10's work well, IMO.

i would look for something that LOOK makes. I would say the PX12 but shes pretty light. i would check out what LOOK has, lots of twin tips you see on the mountains will have LOOK bindings on them, they are great for all mountain and park

Yeah I second Dubsman with Look. Your best bet would probably be their junior model, which is virtually identical to the adult model, just a slightly smaller toe piece (and cheaper).

Fail. Junior bindings don't accommodate adult boots.

Fail! What about a PX Team (PX heel, DIN10, adult norm)? PX Team Jib (NX/Nova heel, DIN10, adult norm). Nova Team 7 (NX/Nova heel, DIN7, adult norm).

The first two would be excellent choices.

The pink Marker Princess a 2.5-9 DIN version of the Jester?

I believe that the Tyrolia SL70 is an adult-normed binding. If it is, and assuming that her DIN setting is under 6 or so (a safe assumption at her weight and skill level), you should be able to reuse them.

SL70 AC is dual norm (*). There's a slider under the toe for changing from child to adult, but the toe wings are very narrow. An adult boot splays them out wide, making me a bit nervous about the forward pressure (I was playing around with a pair of these last week).

* there's currently an SL75 that is a 7.5 DIN adult norm binding with the SL Lite toe. There may have been adult norm only bindings called SL70 in the past.

I mounted a pair for a friend - they're pretty nice.

I read up on the SL70, and after looking at what a couple of shops recommended I have been thinking along these lines. They have a full diagonal release, which most makers seem to be getting away from but I still like the idea.

The "junior race" bindings are the exact same thing as the adult DIN10 bindings, just with the color scheme to match the race skis.

Agreed. But they are sold as junior bindings, and priced accordingly. Plus there's no such thing as a PX10 in the current adult range, so there's nothing to directly compare the PX Team with. Ditto the Nova Team 7 - and neither is that marketed as a race binding (can be picked up for approx. $80).

I don't believe anyone was suggesting using a Team 2 or Team 4. Even though the Team 4 can in theory take an adult boot with the alternative AFD, it only goes to 4.5 and is gonna get splayed out like the SL70.

Ended up with the Marker M10 EPS. Volkl's site recommends the M11 free but the M10 is lighter. Choices locally were pretty limited and the S70 would have needed a wider break (81 waist on the Pearl). The Rossy Scratch was an available alternative but it just felt like a piece of junk.

Cool. Did she get the 08s or 09s? I got the 08s for my girl, which we like the clean look of better. They are much nicer than the pictures show.
