Snowbasin was brought up as an alternative to Powder Mountain, and a discussion of their comparative atmospheres ensued. Hence this is directly relevant. Your meta-critique however, is not.
It's quite an impressive reach to come up with the relation you're trying to make. FYI, there's been no discussion of any kind regarding their comparative atmosphere's, rather someone injected politics / religion based upon their personal perception of the types of lobbying they believe to be appropriate, and because the owner of one resort is a Mormon, now he's guilty by association.
Because someone asserts that the owner of a mountain is of a particular religion, and they don't like some of the views or actions of that group (which that owner may or may not agree with), then now skiing there is tainted?
No doubt you know EXACTLY
what the position / politics and religion of the owner's and management of POWMOW are to be able to be so vocal about somewhere else - right? I'd be willing to bet not, but because Snowbasin's owner is well known, he's apparently an easy target.
For some reason, Mormon's appear to be fair game on this and other boards (I'm not Mormon, nor particularly religious), however if such things were to be said about Jews or Catholics (who are equally involved in the political stuff being mentioned), no doubt the AWOL mods would have been all over it many posts ago.
