TC Colorado Tour 09 Phaze #1 - 1/9 - 1/12

Its official, Mr TC and I sat down with a couple of his buddies last night and booked plane tickets for our first of two(or three) weekend jaunts to Colorado.
We have Abasin bonus pass' but our friends do not, so I'll be looking for some discount ticket packages for them if someone knows where to find a good hook up on them. (liftopia or other sources?)
Skiing Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon

I've never been to Vail or BeaverCreek, and would like to use on of our tickets for one of those during one of our trips. MR TC Loves Breck so we have to plan a day there.
Abasin is best for us on the weekend due to cell coverage.

UGASkidawg, Mr TC is counting on hooking up with you.
Stevesmith7, Geoffda, I'd love to meet up with you again.........
Bklyn, Terry wants to know if you met Bubba yet?

TC, Mrs. Roadrash, little Miss Roadrash and I will be in CO the same weekend. We are planning to hit both Vail and BC but don't have the exact details worked out yet. Would love to meet up with you and Mr. TC and make a few turns.

Great, lets work it out as it gets closer.
I'll pm you my cell phone number.

That's a bad weekend for me with a friend getting married but I should be able to make some turns on Sunday. I'll go where the group goes but also prefer A-Basin that day so I don't have to go over the pass to Vail.
:Awesome. I'll PM you my phone #s. I should be able to get our all three days, so just let me know where to meet up. Don't forget to bring the duct-tape for that tree skiing lesson!

Duct Tape - Check!

I'm for sure down with skiing if you come to Copper. I will still probably be able to hook up at one of the Vail Resorts.

My daughter would love to make a few turns with you as well
post #8 of 47
Love to do a day at BC with you. Will have to check schedules.
Basin works too.
Ugh, not a good time for me this time 'round. Having root canal on the 6th, and lots of stuff going on at work that week (students coming back for spring semester). So.... next time?

This will be one of two or three 2009 jaunts to Colorado, so if you don't hook up with us on this run, then perhaps another one. THUMBSUP

Dumb question, but how long of a drive is it from Frisco area to Vail and/or Beavercreek?

JONG!

Had to say that, sorry.

30 minutes in good conditions, another 10 to BC, three days if things get tough.

You're staying in Frisco? That's our "Colorado" residence.

Weekends will be tough for me to get away, but if you plan a trip including a Wednesday or Thursday, let me know. Those are my days off.

I would love to meet Lil O!
Epic's lil A likes sticky fish, what kind of snack does O like?

Our plan is to ski Abasin on Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Monday being Breck/Keystone......not sure about fitting Vail BC into it on this trip, But we can be convinced to do Copper and all plans are subject to change depending on friends and fun.
Vail and BC are getting hammered with snow right now. Plus you never know who may be aVAILable to guide then.
TC, if you haven't skied BC, do yourself a favor and fit it in. It is especially nice on the weekends, because of the lack of a crowd.
Sorry, I'll be heading to Aspen for the ESA on Sunday, but hope to meet up on Phase 2 (there is a phase 2 isn't there?). I haven't used any of my "ski with a friend" passes for Vail, so there are 6 discounted tickets waiting for you. BTW, you should be able to make it from Frisco to Vail in less than 30 minutes as long as the roads are clear, there is no traffic, and you watch for speed traps (but watch for black ice on the down side of Vail Pass)

We will fit it in on one of our trips, just not sure which one. Perhaps this one.

There is a Phase #2 and Phase #3 in the plans.

FYI, I am working on the possibility of leaving MrTC and his friends in Summit county and joining my friends at ESA Aspen Snowmass, but I haven't worked out the details or real possibilities just yet.

Skied BC today. Very uncrowded, not a powder day but really soft. Radio calls for up to 20" tomorrow night.

Tc...Try and stop in at Pug Ryan's Pub in Dillon after a day @

Update; Dates may be changing.......one of our travel buddies fell off his roof yesterday and broke his heel. Pretty serious break. Another ski buddy wants to hop on the TC Colorado Tour but would like to change the dates and well.........we're always up for an adventure!

So.. next year? That's a hell of a break. Takes a long time to heel. Some of my MTB buddies have done that one (I imagine Terry's Moto friends have done that too).

We are skiing Copper on Thursday and have a 3 day Vail/BC/Breck/Keystone pass for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Maybe we could meet up with you for a few runs on Friday at Keystone or Sunday at Abasin. If I remember correctly COSkigirl thought Sunday was the only day she might be able to make, So maybe that would work better. I'll send a PM with our cell numbers.

I'll be with the boys at Keystone on Friday, but will likely be ditching them to head to ESA Aspen Snowmass by Sunday.
I'm sooooooo stoked!!!
I'll post a meet up time/place here before we head out.
Looking forward to seeing you and the family!
