Atomic B80 Canting adjustment.

I want to make an adjustment to the canting on my Atomic (B80) ski boots.

I have the tool which Atomic provide to turn the canting screw, but I can't remember how the system works...

is it that a clockwise twist adjusts canting in one direction, and an anti clockwise twist moves things the other way?

or, do you unscrew the canting screw, manually position the cuff and then re-tighten the screw?

The screw is a bit stiff with age and I don't want to break anything by forcing it.

Thanks all.

Watch the cuff as you turn the outer piece. See how the coller changes angle. Move to the new chosen position.

Isn't the cuff alignment mechanism a rotating cam?

there are about 3 different systems

one has a rivet with two holes put the tool in and twist either way
next one is the same as above but with a torx bolt in the middle, loosen bolt and turn the outer with tool as above.
third is a bolt with a pointer type device on it the bolt is loosened and the cuff can be moved manually up and down then the bolt is tightened

all depends on the year of the boot but my guess is it is either the first type or the last

Once I'd worked out the answer I was slightly embarrassed that I'd had to ask.

I just sprayed the screw with WD40 and then once it had freed up it was pretty obvious how it worked,

Still, could have been worse, I might have asked on TGR...

I have same problem on my Atomic B90 ski boots.
I don't know how system works.System has a rivet with two holes as it is described by user CEM. Yes, I sprayed the screw with WD40, but unfortunately, I still don't know how system works.
Can you (or someone else) explain to me  how it works. Worst of all is that I tried to do something and now I dont know how to put it back on a default position.

Thanks in advance.

now depending on the version you have, you will either have a large rivet with 2 small holes at the sides, or a rivet with 2 small holes and a big torx screw in the middle

if it is the first type then all you do is insert he tool and turn the rivet (it is on an eccentric cam) and this will move the cuff either in or out depending on the location on the boot ie inside or outside and the nuetral position that it is set in at the factory

if it is the latter type then you need to use the large torx key to slacken the big bolt and then turn the cam as above...remember this needs to be set up to match the lower leg shape rather than to adjust it

It is the first type of rivet.
Do I need to turn rivet clockwise or anti clockwise. I've heard that rivet can be turned by only 180 degrees, but I dont know is it correct.
I am still little confused:).
Thank you for the answer.

ok really simple, the river spins 360degrees and keeps on spinning if you turn it....
there is a small arrow head on the rivet.......... on cant bolt on the outside of the boot when the arrow is pointing up the cuff is tipped out the way when the arrow is down the cuff is in the way, as smallzookeeper siad the easiet thing to do is turn the rivet and watch what happens to the cuff
