Any comments/reviews on the Volkl Unlimited AC

Thread Starter
Can anyone comment (or point me to comments) on the Volkl Unlimited AC skis? I am 5'7" or 5'8", 150 lbs or so, intermediate. I have not skied much in the last 4 years but I am looking to get back into it. When I was skiing often, I was comfortable on any blues at moderate speeds. My current skis are Volkls Carver access 184 -- although I always thought they are a bit too long for me; 177 would have been better... Any comments would be helpful. Thanks!

As an intermediate at 5'8 150 you should probably be looking at 168s or 170s unless you're looking for a powder ski.

The AC's look like they're going to be pretty soft - you may want a ski you can grow into - maybe the AC20? Still, demoing is the way to go if you can swing it, get something that feels good to you in a length that feels good (I'd definitely aim for 170 or lower though at your weight/height/skill level)

My friend just described them as floppy dicks and very chattery. He also says you would love them if you like to be on the brink of disaster while skiing. He owns a pair, but he is a tad different from your every day skier. He is 150lbs and is 6'.

Hope that helps

To add to my last post so it makes sense, he skis down the hill, not skiing across the hill as he goes down, which may be why I got such a response. So if you ski like he does then you may not want them.
