ForRent: GJH (Jackson Hole) Gathering 3 BR unit for 7 days from 7 FEB

For Rent : 7 nights accommodation in 3 bedroom unit, 3 bathroom, sleeps 8 for the week of the Gathering at Jackson TownCentre resort, 325 W Broadway.

Note - this is IN Sat 7 Feb , out SAT 14 Feb, Gathering starts Saturday. So if you fly in Friday 6th you need to find something else for a night.

Extend the Gathering and stay at Jackson for 7 nights for $1000 USD. The price is the same whether there are two of you in the unit or 8, so organise a group and have a cheap holiday.

6 can sleep with privacy, ie. 3 double bedroom with 3 bathroom, but if you like company there are beds for 2 in the lounge. I don't know which of the configurations noted below that I have been allocated, so 3rd bedroom may be 1 queen or 2 sets of bunks. This is not a serviced unit, so have to make your own bed, but it has a full kitchen with laundry on site. Timeshare resorts are pretty much look after yourself for the week, which I prefer.

I have a timeshare that I have not exchanged or used, so thought I may as well get a week that I know might be in demand that someone else can use, and I can recover my annual and exchange fees. If you are interested drop me a PM with your email address and I can send you some more info that I have found on the web, including some reviews and photos. The reviews praise the central location in Jackson, it is not 4 or 5 star accommodation but it is not 4 or 5 star prices. I have seen 2 bedroom units in this resort advertised for $850 during November, so I figure that 3 BR in prime ski time of Feb is good value. Price is for the 7 nights, no partial bookings, but it is up to you how many nights you stay, same price.

Payment will probably be easiest by Paypal ( since I am in New Zealand). First in, first served........ please note that I am in a different timezone and am off to bed immediately after I post this..... yawn.....

Xmas special, it can be yours for $900.
###########################

That is only $128 per night - spread amongst 6 of you, it is under $22 a night each. If that is not cheap enough for you, use the beds in the lounge and sleep 8 - that $16 a night! It has to be better than a hostel, you have your own full kitchen and 3 bathrooms.

W Broadway is the main throughfare through down so you are on the bus route to get to Jackson Hole ski area. 5 minute walk to the restaruents.

CHEAP CHEAP holiday in a truly amazing place, I'd use it myself if it was not so far away.

You can buy this without attending the Gathering, but you'd be silly not too, they are a great bunch of people. I attended the last JH gathering and it is great way to experience a ski area and a town. You don't feel like an outsider looking in,and you know you are being shown the best of it, instead of chancing finding the best runs, and the best food.

Is no one interested in this?!!!
Really? How many are staying at the "Painted flea"? -for 50$ a night?
Note that Julie actually attended a gathering!

Goodness, this would be my type of price but we'd need five others!
It does sound like a good deal, but the timing is wrong for me (arrive/leave midweek). Plus, I already have a deposit elsewhere.

Hope she rents it!

That sounds like a great time. 2 of us from the PNW. Just got to round up a few more skiers.

This is a great price at a great location! Too bad that it overlaps a long-planned trip to Alta or I'd be all over it!

I went to ESA Snowbird and Jackson Hole Gathering in 2004, and Utah Gathering in 2006. I can't say enough about how much of a difference it makes to an international ski trip meeting up with locals and bears. Absolutely fabulous ...... they make everyone feel welcome.........

This is a great deal and somebody ought to jump on it.

For any of you who might be waffling on attending the Gathering, maybe it would help Julie rent this place if I mention that the skiing here is already great and we've got a monster storm predicted for Christmas Day with more lined up behind. The new tram is running and we're only about two storms away from full-bore Jackson Hole mayhem on the entire mountain.

More than one Gathering!

Cloudpeak and I have skied with her a bunch (and hiked, and gone birding, etc...). In case anyone is hesitating because they don't know her & she kind of hangs out on the other side of the world - don't. Julie is as solid a citizen as I know. Honest to a fault. If you are inclined to stay in town vs the village - this seems a mighty fine deal to me...

And FWIW Julie is great fun to ski with too. Just FYI in case the opportunity presents itself. I was really hoping she'd make it to the states this winter, but apparently this is not to be.

Thanks for the sale support, Spindrift and Bob. Might help for my potential customers to know that they are not being scammed.

Yes I would love to have come myself, but I can't do everything unfortunately, have to make some choices.

Hope everyone had a great Xmas, we are in Wanaka for Xmas with family and have ate too much as usual.

Still available. In case you are wondering how this works, the deal with timeshare exchanges is that this unit is allocated to me. if you buy it off me, you don't pay anymore once you check except a $100 deposit that you should get back when you check out, uness you have incurred any additional expenses or damaged the property.

If I don't use this unit myself (which I am not), I can buy a 'guest certificate' from the timeshare exchange company in the name of the person that is to occupy the unit. This person can produce ID and check-in.

Feel free to get a group together on epicski.com if you don't need the 3 bedroom. The guest certifcate has to be in the name of one person, so someone needs to nominate themselves as tour leader. I don't mind getting multiple pay pal payments as long as it all adds up.

Some photos to entice you ....

the interior is in keeping with the rustic wyoming theme

and there is plenty of room in the fridge for the beer

Julie, I've been looking at this and wondering why no one has snatched it up. IF I were going out there I'd be allllll over it!

Yeah I am surprised too .......

to my prospective customers..... if you are not sure that this is legitimate and want more proof, PM me and I can email you the confirmation from the timeshare exhange so you can ring town centre yourself to check the booking exists. If you don't think this is a good deal check out expedia to see how much a 3 bed unit costs.
I think part of the reason for the lack of response might be because many gathering attendees are not staying for the whole week...

OK, I'm jump in and get it started. I'm staying the whole week.

But I'm only by myself. So if there're others like me, speak up or PM.

thanks, at_nyc, fingers crossed there are others 'like you' and you could get a group together.

Reminder - the check in is SAT, not Friday and with timeshares, the check-in days are rigid. I realise this may not suit everyone.

If I could get away, I would take this place in a heartbeat.. That's the price of 3 days at Taos..Good price, and wish I could

I am back on-line, so can answer any questions .... this deal is still available. if you don't need all 3 bedrooms get in touch wth at_nyc who is interested in getting a group together.

I went to stay with friends in their holiday home that did not even have a land-line phone or cell phone coverage, let alone internet access. It was great! They are also not connected to the 'grid', they use a coal range for cooking and heating the water, and have recently gone upmarket and installed a solar unit to power the fridge and lights. We are so dependent on our utilities nowadays that we would struggle to survive a week without them. My friends over the years of using their holiday home have learnt a lot of skills and lessons that have been lost over time. It made me think of my aunty who died a couple of months ago at the age of 80. She had cooked on a coal range her whole life, she refused to replace it even though she could afford it , she loved cooking with it, even in the heat of summer- our family does own a coal mine so she had a million tonnes in her back yard to burn, no shortage of fuel. My friend who I stayed with said she had made friends with her coal range, you need to build a relationship wth it. It made me think of the knowledge that died with my aunty, and the relationship she must have had with her oven, amazing.

Nice post julie. It is amazing how dependent we are on electricity. Of course we wouldn't be here now without it eh!?
I lived in Flagstaff, Arizona for a little while and burned coal delivered by Navahos in a pickup truck. Have to say though that at times the smoke in that town in the winter was awful. I think that was fairly soft coal.

The burning of coal is being restricted in urban areas here but still allowed in rural. Industrial use of coal is not high here, so my family sell very little coal, just pocket money from domestic sales.

This unit is still available............

Well, so who else is staying for a whole week?

Even split 3 ways (own room & bath, without bothering with roommates), it's under $300 for a full week per ROOM.

Even the Antler Inn cost more than that...
Actually, even split 2 ways it is competitive with motel rates. (But I'm arriving Thursday, so no good for me.)
Exactly!

I'm a bit surprised and disappointed we couldn't even find 3 parties to take it up. Splitting 3 ways, it's even worth cancelling the motel and eat the $25 penalty!

But I understand, not everyone is staying the whole week...
