Just back from an afternoon at the Basin & things are definitely looking better. This last storm made a huge difference. Pali is spinning now and it looks like we are only a few days from getting some stuff open over on Main. My buddies and I spent the afternoon skiing bumps alternating between Slalom Slope, Radical and the trees in between and then lapping Exhibition (which has surprisingly good cover). After a couple of hours of this, we're waiting at the top of Pali along with another group of local skiers. I had just told my friends that this needed to be last run because I had to get back to work when a ski patroller comes over and says, "Hey--do you guys want to do some skiing?" Turns out they were dropping the ropes on Standard, 13-Cornices, Bear Trap, etc. Needless to say, work had to wait while we took four more laps in knee deep powder. We shredded 13-Cornices, got first tracks down the funnel of International, and ripped the surrounding trees. I think my friends did some damage over on Bear Trap--I kept trying to get over there, but there was always a better tree line before I could make it that far. Totally epic! Anyway, coverage is decent by A-Basin standards and it will probably be skiing well until the weekend crowds destroy the place. Get it while you can!
