It is dumping here today in Santa Fe. Thinking of going up in a couple of days. Seems to be largely tracking west to east and missing Taos for the most part.

Missing Taos? They are projecting 5-8 inches of snow each day for today and tomorrow...

Looks like a white out to me (Taos Mtn is supposed to be in view in the distance)...

I was up there yesterday morning. It was foggy, clouded, and really cold, but there was no snow falling. It was mostly the wind blowing everything around, so that camera view can me misguiding. The Taos website didn't report any precipitation from yesterday, but I'm hoping that changed today. It's dumping here in Albuquerque now so I'm really looking forward to good accumulation totals in North Eastern NM.

I'd have to agree, though it's funny how my definition of "dumping" has changed since I moved here. In Abq proper 1-2" does constitute dumping.

The radar does look a little weak around Taos now. But I'm not sure if there is any shadowing going on masking the precip up there. I'm not well versed in the ins and outs of NM weather yet. It's clear there is shadowing going on on the east side of the Sandias.

Check out this map: Interactive radar.
It seems to me that the storm is tracking SW to NE, so Taos should get dumped on later today.

I came back from Taos yesterday and waiting until Saturday to go back is going to suck!

I just spoke with my buddy who is working today up in TSV - 6" already today and it is still snowing. He said it is supposed to snow tomorrow as well, and again Thursday-Saturday - bring it on!

That's what I like to hear! Nothing beats eyes on the ground.

Yeah, looks like it should pick up later tonight. Which is great news if they already have 6 on the ground.

I hoping to head up there this weekend myself. Not til Sunday though.

The TSV webpage just updated. They are reporting 8'' in the last 24 hours, and with what's to come later it should make for epic conditions this week.

I'll be up there Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday. If you want to hook up for some turns shoot me a PM.

Hell, we got that much down in town in Santa Fe today.

I'll be up at Santa Fe ski area for the next few days (Tue-Thu) and I'll post a report.

Have fun in the freshies! 15'' new in Santa Fe, 19'' in Taos, and I think those totals may double by the end of the storm.

Yes Sir it missed Taos! We only have 20" Fresh in the last 24 hrs and still snowing - 37 inches in last 5 days.

Santa Fe getting hammered with snow right now. The top of the mountain not open yet, but once this storm system passes through, I imagine it might open. Friday looking really sweet for freshies.

The skiing at Santa Fe is pretty nice right now, and as more runs get opened, it's just going to get better. There was a lot of powder to be had today.

Just a note in case you're considering ducking ropes there - the bottom third of Avalanche Bowl slid today in a full width soft slab that left a two foot crown.

Castor and Pollux slid today and there is a two inch fracture on Reforma. They are were unable to run the Reforma lift today and there was only skiing off lift one! Another foot of snow expected tonight and tomorrow.... Patrol has a ton of work to do before we can access the goods on the back side and off the ridge.

Thanks for the update! Is that a new fracture on reforma? Because I saw it fractured last weekend but there was sign of explosives so I figured patrol triggered that. The top of Al's run slid two weeks ago too. A lot of work for the patrol indeed.

I'm so anxious for this weekend

Are they asking for help with bootpacking? (Would enjoy the exercise and free tix)

Any guesses what might be open for the weekend?
