The winner of the K2 skis at the Stowe ESA was Twin Tip!!!

(Wasn't she also the winner of the Harts at last year's mini-Gathering? Some girls have all the luck!)

Thanks to Charlie, Erin, and Amy and all the other great folks at K2 Skis for the fantastic support of EpicSki Academy and our website.

*In case you just got here, K2 Skis gives us a pair of skis of the winner's choice at every ESA, which we raffle to pay for bandwidth, upgrades, and asbestos undies for the Moderation Team. Yay, K2!!!

I think Twintip's gonna go for the Burnin Luvs. Her quiver has a several pair of wide skis and skinny Harts (F17s I think). Tog and Bob Barnes were telling her all day on Saturday that she needed some carvers for the hard snow and when she won the raffle, the universe delivered! In the meantime, Bob skied her Volkl Auras on Sunday and she skied his Hart Javelins.

And Nolo, I don't think she's been to an Epic event before nor won any skis, but I'm not sure 'bout that. She's on her way home to PA today, left my house this morning.

It could have been someone else; I try not to let certainty get in the way of my facts.

911 over and Taw won the Hart Skis.
What's really exciting is that Twin tip has been on Ski Diva for some time. It was this fall that she really stepped up on Epic and was convinced to do ESA. Now, she's Grrrrrr, like a Bear!

I'm very excited for her!

Well just to clarify, Bob has too much sense to tell her to get another pair of skis. I take full blame for instituting the campaign and then dragging Bob in as a hostile expert witness. Of course he undermined the whole affair by skiing on those Auras the next day the way he did. The whole thing started with Trek and her skis that rhyme with "fro". I tried em too. Well, back to talk of the stone age!....

See, without the campaign Twintip never would've bought a raffle ticket! Trek had a new wrinkle on purchasing - buy your waist size in tickets for 10$! She came up with it - oh I forget the story, something about bikers and Sturgis...tables perhaps...really I can't remember anything other than thinking "I should probably not remember this for her own good"

Don't believe Twintip took the waist option as her return on investment would be better with the standard purchase. In fact I think she only bought two tickets! Mark on the other hand...got a pretty good return! It's for that reason I spent at least 10 minutes thouroughly mixing the tickets. The universe was working in other ways as Mark was repeatedly winning a size small epic ski vest. He'd stand up yelling "I won!" Then weems and trek would hold the vest up, look at him and tell him, "No, I don't think this will work!"

Just to clarify, this WAS my first ESA event and I have not previously won any skis (nor anything, for that matter)....

I was thoroughly impressed with the Bears I met at the gathering, and the quality of coaching. Bob Barnes was an unbelievable teacher, and fun to boot. I had a blast skiing on his Javelins, and he REALLY did like my Auras!

Tog's good-natured ribbing about my fat skis all day Saturday made my raffle win quite serendipitous....and I am choosing the Burnin Luvs - a good front-side carver - to fill out my quiver. I will don them on my next ESA event unless there is deep snow. And I did purchase a waist-width's worth of tickets for $10, and my lack of a Barbie-doll figure DID make this a bargain which paid off for me.

So thanks to everyone for providing awesome company, to Trekchick for her organization, to Bob Barnes for 2 great days of instruction, and to Tog for his humor, and carver-ski drills. I promise to practice them when my new skis arrive!

Yes this is most important - see everyone can be happy now!
Perhaps you (Twintip) can start a new part of epic where one posts ski graphics and then you can somehow post clothing pics. - an Outfit organizer! Kinda like in the movie Clueless (hysterical!) where alicia silverstone has her computer look at outfits (it's 1992 I think!) to go to high school in.

I really think that Bob should post a review of your Volkl Auras in the Gear Section! Could be most informative.

I'm about halfway through the book. It's pretty interesting.
.
I COULD have taken the vests and used them as leg-warmers.

Actually, I have a Patagonia shell in an orange that will match the Burnin' Luvs. BTW, did anyone notice that Bob Barnes' jacket matched his Hart Javelins?
I noticed that immediately...but who am I to comment I have a jacket for each ski color combo.....oops did I just say that
