It's been a while since I have been to Vail. What is the parking situation like? I would rather avoid paying $20+ to park a car.

It was 9 years ago, but there was free parking at Ford park. An easy walk to Riva Bahn.

One year we rented a house near the golf course in Vail. I noticed that a number of people drove to the golf course parking lot, parked, and then took the bus from there. The bus from the golf course takes you to Golden Peak, which is a short walk to the Riva Bahn chair. Many of the bus loops drop you at the transportation center, which is a long walk, uphill, to the Vista Bahn chair.

I used the lot near Golden Peak many times, hope its still free.

has anyone had any experience with this what time does it fill up by on a weekday????

wrong post i was wondering about donovans when that fills up on a weekday?

Hard to tell when Donovan will fill up on a weekday considering it's only been an option for a short while. Here's a link for more Vail parking info. Note the frontage road in front of the Safeway is only legal for parking Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Oh please, don't make me laugh...

...my stomach hurts already. Anything that is still free is going to require a hike or a bus ride. Actually, I think Vail Parking raised rates so that it's closer to $25 or $30 a day. I have 3 days of races there in February, which means I'll be lugging around bags, back packs, multiple pairs of skis, etc....yech. What my teammate and I did last year was do the valet parking thing at Golden Peak, which was $25...drive up, get out, park, walk up the steps, dress and ski...anybody know if this is still available?

Vail garage parking is $25, the valet is $30 and you need to go https://www.mountainvalet.net/vailmap.html to make reservations. If you are schelping a lot of gear, or small children it might be worth the extra $5.

On my way out of the $30 lot my first day at vail this season I asked the cashier where the free lots are...She gave me a map/brochure about the parkign situation in vail...its in my car.

Basically all the parking is out in butt**** east vail...

I'll grab it next time I'm in the car and post some of the locations if I can decipher it.

cheers.

No, some is in West Vail as well and if you know the secrets there's stuff in Eagle-Vail as well. What do you expect, they're going to put free parking nice and close? This is Vail we're talking about.

If you mean Donovan Park, it did not fill yesterday.

(Now if you all stop talking about it, it may not fill so quickly in the future)
