In all my pre-season ski fanaticism, I came up with this. HOW MUCH would you be willing to pay for one run down at your home mountain in a foot and a half of champagne pow in MID AUGUST?? I think I'd fork out $500 for hollywood bowl at Stevens Pass.

Local hill? none, crescent is crap 300 vertical feet. Vail or some other place with multiple cliff lines? Probably about the amount of money my local hill has in vertical feet...

I've always wanted to cart my skis up Rainier in August, just to ski the slush! Never make it, though. So I guess I wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars for an experience I could have with a little effort.

By the way, where the heck is Holiday Bowl at Steven's pass? I know Tye bowl, Carona Bowl and Big Chief Bowl, but I don't know Holiday Bowl.

On summer vocation just go to closest glacier skiing resort... It saves money

As for me, 500$ almost would be a week in European Alps although I live 1500 miles from them

I'd pay the gas it takes to get there (and back), and all the effort it takes to skin up the hill.

It's not holiday, its hollywood. Its at the very top of the mountain between the backside and the terrain accessed by tye mill lift. You know the intersection between where the last trail cuts right to the frontside, and that easy blu run to the backside split? And there's that boot packed steep trail going up between them? That accesses hollywood bowl. Check that out! I discovered it by watching all the chileans hit some sick cornices and backcountry jumps there.

Why settle for just one run? For that kind of $$ you could ski South America in mid-August for much less per run. It may not be all champagne powder, but you would certainly get your money's worth.
