You would be alot closer to Stowe than Smuggs. Could you find anything in Jeffersonville or maybe Johnson, Cambridge? I would add maybe 10 minutes to the mapquest times though. If you get stuck behind a plow it could be much greater. For your info there are no shoulders on roads in Vt. even if it looks like packed down snow don't pull off the road .

nothing as cheap as I found.

cambridge wasnt shown on the map I was looking at. I go back though craig's list.

just found 400 a month at smuggler's notch which IMO trumps 250 a month in morrisville.

Depends where in Morrisville too. That's where I live. It's easily 35 minutes to Smuggs.

if the person on the access road gets back to me I am going to take 2 miles away over 21miles away. thats easily worth 150 bucks each month IMO.

35 min from Mo-Vegas to Smuggs sounds about right. Are you going to be working there this winter? Ski School? Cause I know a bunch of those guys if you are.

IMO you will regret it if you end up in Morrisville while working for Smuggs... there is no good back way, and the drive home from the bars will be just too far.

I'd look in Jeffersonville, Cambridge, and Waterville. Maybe even Belvidere...

As for as info about living there, there is a college in Johnson (in between Mo-Vegas and Jeff/Smuggs) and not much else. The best bar scene around is in Stowe, but it's a long drive around the notch while it's closed in the winter. Much easier to go back and forth in the summer.

There is some world class bouldering and ice climbing in Smugglers Notch itself, if your into that type of thing.

I lived in various towns around that area through college and a couple of years afterwards, and have worked for Smuggs. Let me know if you have more questions.

Being only 13 (turning 14 in march), living in Westchester NY, while the best mountain that's a day trip is Hunter Mountain which is 2 hours away; my dream is to live in the mountains. Once or twice a year I might head to better terrain; Southern Vermont (more variety, more vertical, less challenge), Adirondacks (Whiteface, Gore), out West (only been out twice-- Lake Tahoe last winter and Jackson Hole... in third grade

I idolize all who live in the mountains. I wish to do the same when I grow older.
