Great Deal, Should I Keep Them?

I was in a local "everything" store today (Yeager's) for their big sale looking for toys for my grandson for Christmas. I cruised the ski shop (which is not a good one) because everything was 30% off. I found on the end of the rack some of last season's Elan 888 186s (my size) marked at $280. That's before the 30% off. In short I got out of there with the skis and bindings for $305 including sales tax of 8.4%.

I now ski on Fischer Atuas which sound like they respond similarly to the 888s. I love the Atuas (now the Misfit) because of their soft snow abilities and all around performance (especially in crud). I wonder if having the 888s will just give me another ski that is too much the same? I'm a retired teacher and my funds are limited, so this seems at least like a good investment for when the Fischers give out.

Should I keep them?

You are asking that question on a forum where there is a 27 page thread on quivers? I think that you know the answer. Enjoy them.

Good deal. If nothing else, stash them in a closet for when the Atuas wear out.

keep, try, resell if they don't work out.

Of course you should not keep them. Send them off to me now

I'll pay you what you spent and throw in shipping.

I must admit, I knew what the answers would be. I just felt the need to hear it from others because I'm such a skinflint that even that price gave me pause. I'll be keeping them.

I hope I don't send a bunch of Western WA folks scurrying to Yeager's to see if they can score a deal like mine. There were only two pair of skis marked down like that and the other ones were a pair of park skis at about 185cm. The sale was for one day only as well.

yeah I know. I commonly feel buyers remorse too lately - probably the darned panicky economy psychosis that's spreading everywhere.

But I remind myself that newer gear is more marketable for resale and improved technology (ya right). Plus it's fun

Def keepers. I mean, I have the 666's and love them. And yours are 222 better....
