Recommended Instructional DVD's? Downhill/Alpine?

Any recommendations on instructional DVD's?

On Amazon, I see Kent's Clinic Ski Instruction and Breakthrough on Skis. Breakthrough on skis looks pretty dated... Kent's looks like it might be o.k. Honestly I'm surprised there aren't many more of these type of instructional videos out there.

Any input on either of these or recommendations on other instructional videos?

I am a "weak-expert" level skier that would like to be able to ski the bumps and deeper snow with significantly more finesse as well as less effort and exertion then I am currently capable of. I'm also looking to ease the load on my knees a bit.

Any ideas?

I suppose you COULD go over to the other site, and get Harald's video. But then you'd be skiing as well as us. So just forget it.

I recently bought the Sofa Ski School DVD and I think it's pretty good.

I also have Harald's book and DVD, but don't like it.

Sportskool.com has a few good, short videos with Bode Miller too.

If you want to look at some of the Kent's Clinics (I like them) you can find a couple of them at:

I recommend our very own Rick's DVD's.

Harb has new DVDs. The first, "Tipping," is out and very good. The second and third are just about finished in production. As always, what Harb teaches is not what PSIA teaches. It is the recreational version of this video.

All of the DVD instructors mentioned can be seen skiing either on youtube or on their websites. Find the instructor whom you most aspire to ski like, and buy his or her DVD. (For me, that means following SoftSnowGuy's recommendation. For you, it might mean a different choice.) At this level, they can all teach well; the difference is what they teach and the style of skiing it leads to.

Good site for quality ski videos

Hi!

I found Chris Fellows website SKINASTC to be very helpful. Here's the link:

Hope it helps!
