After having read the recent thread on US Orthotic Center in NY City and in need of a fitting, I decided to give it a whirl. This was in spite of the silly accusations by one poster on a rude receptionist and overall costs for a fitting.

All in all, this was a VERY pleasant experience and Jeff Rich is a very knowledgeable fact, the "go to guy" for one of the major ski rags and you get the feeling he's seen everyone from Monica Seles to Kristi Yamaguchi to some of the top ski pros, because he has!

I won't go into specifics on my lovely feet, but suffice it to say the guy is highly qualified, spent a ton of time walking me through (no pun intended) how best to get me in balance and recommended a specific boot and custom fitting.
With respect to the "rude receptionist", Jan is anything but. She happens to be very kind and warm in person and I think most of what I witnessed had more to do with phones ringing off the hook and her looking to efficiently handle those calls versus any sort of rude absolute pleasure to deal with.

I'll let you know how I make out a couple weeks from now when I'm cruising down the mountain and what differences I see.
