Kneissl Ergo Ride X

Can anyone tell me about these boots?
I've been skiiing on a set of Nordica B7 boots which are waaay too big for me. When I started skiing last year as a 49 year old beginner, I just bought my shoe size, not knowing at the time that I should have gone smaller.
Not wanting to spend hundreds on new boots I took a 100 km drive to a bootfitter this week who said he could make them better but the shell was so big there was only so much he could do. He had a new old stock set of the above mentioned Kneissl's which he offered to me for $150 CDN if I would then also upgrade them with the custom footbeds and fitting (extra of course). BTW, the shell fit on the Kneissl's is perfect.
As Kneissl is not making boots anymore, I really cannot find any info on them but he says they are excellent boots which were $600 when new and will make a world of difference in my skiing.
This is the only place within 100 miles that does bootfitting and the do have a very good local reputation for quality and service among local skiers so I decided to go for it. I also could not see spending money for the custom insoles etc. on the B7s.
We did the custom fitting, heat molding etc. and I have to say the boots do feel fantastic. On the way home I dropped off my huge B7s to the local Play It Again Sports, where they gave me 50 bucks for them.
I'm not sure what the exact size change was but I did notice that the length stamped on the heel of my B7s was 340mm and these are 327mm, so obviously a big difference in shell size.
They also gave me a free Volkl hat, free skI socks, did a full tuneup on my skis and set the bindings for the new boots for free while I was there being fitted (about 4 hours). Basically I am very happy with the service, fitting and price overall etc., just curious as to what members here think of the Kneissl's and your take on my fitting experience above.
I should mention they would have been happy to sell me new boots LOL, but there was just no way I was going to shell out that kind of money on myself just before Christmas.

If the boot fits, wear it. Boot 'quality' comes down to how well a model/ brand fits your individual and unique anatomy. Sounds like the shop REALLY treated you well, boots cheap + binding adjust or maybe re-mount ($25 to $50 value) + Hat (say $20 value) + socks ($12-ish) + tune ($40-ish)... I'd say they treated you well. Bring them a 12pack to show some appreciation.

Thanks. I would agree they treated me very well. Can't wait to get on the slopes next weekend to try the new boots
