For most people this is not really big news. But this is the first step toward recovering from the hip socket fracture I had a year ago. This is a big deal for me given that I had to overcome a level of fear that I have never had to deal with before. The first pangs of fear was approaching the offload ramp. I thought I was going to totally lose control. I told myself "lean right" and I was able to steer myself away the unloading area. The first run was slow and shaky. I relaxed after the third run. Then it became apparent that I'm completely out of shape and was sucking wind half-way down. But over all, it was a successful ski trip.
