Derek Trucks has just been confirmed for playing at Sugarloaf February 7th, a Saturday night, which I think is awesome!!!!

So, I wonder.........Who have you seen and at which resorts??

I don't believe in ipods when I ski but, apres' skiing is where it's at. Love a good band after making turns all day.

Who have you seen and where??

Well, I saw the Derek Trucks Band opening for the Allman Brothers last year at Jones Beach. Great great show.

Catching DT's band apres-ski would be freakin' sweet!!

I've seen a few good shows at the Pickle Barrel, The Toasters, the Rustic Overtones and some others.

On the hill itself, not much. Although many years ago I went to a weekend long hardcore show in the lodge of a tiny tiny ski area in Cobleskill NY (I mean tiny), if I remember right it was a benefit for a local animal shelter. Tickets to the show included lift tickets, but not many people took them up on it. I did. Went out and did a few runs in street clothes. Good times

Derek Trucks will be great, especially if his wife joins him.

I saw Little Feat at Sunday River last year -- limited chairs, so we had to stand for 2 1/2 hours -- this is getting too difficult for my 55 year old legs. They were great, but I still miss Lowell George...

I saw Newt and the Salamanders at Crystal Mtn a few years ago.

Back in '95 we were staying in Breckenridge for a week, skiing there, Vail and Copper. We went out to dinner one night and happend to find that Dave mason was playing at the local brew pub. Can't remember the name of the place. He was great and very loud too.

Early 2000's at a summer mountain biking event at Steamboat, outdoors in front of the main lodge area... The first night Cracker played. I am and had been a Cracker fan for some time and had long wanted to see them. The next night Clarence Gatemouth Brown played. he is (was rather, passed on about 2 years back.) another artist I had wanted to see for many years. So double bonus; and to top it off, my company had a hospitality tent there so free food and beer while enjoying concerts outdoors on a summer's eve at Steamboat CO.

No big names, but Beaver Creek is awesome for apres-ski live music.

Throughout last spring many outdoor patios had bands and troubadours playing live as skiers headed down. A nice vibe.

Most material is aimed at the middle-aged crowd - covers of big names from the 60's and 70's. Still, its amazing how many young babes would get-up and dance.

A pleasant, relaxing way to end a ski day, especially with a few brews and tequila shots.
