I don't exactly know. Richie-rich would know way more about how to go about this probably.
See it would be fairly easy if the problem was like their offices got flooded and they need physical help. Then we get could a bunch of people together, go there and clean things up without much direction because we know how to do it. - Problem solved.
Here it looks like there's manufacturing issues - probably nothing can be done about them by us. In terms of shipping though, I guess they come by boat? If that's the case, someone might be able to come up with something completely outrageous like getting Richard Branson to fly a bunch on one of the Virgin flights at a reduced cost than normal. Now that's a bit out there I know but I've seen people get stuff done like that!
There's the customer communication issue - people need to know. Saying nothing while working like dogs doesn't inform the customer - maybe that's just calling people. I don't know.
The biggest issue is you have to ask for something specific. It's one thing to get someone to give you reduced freight on a flight - seeing if they have unused space etc., or expediting customs, those are specific problems people can grasp. They can say yes or no - and you have the opportunity to convince them to do it. It's another thing to just throw your hands up and say "help". Then, there's nothing specific people can help you with and it's like "what, you want me to run your business?"
I would think that most of the resources for small businesses move at a glacial pace and are not going to be of much use right now.
Look, here's a scenario. Management of PM (is that one person?) stops doing whatever long enough to lay out the problems. Person comes in to make a plan and gets others to help with it. That could be quite complicated but it's possible.
Look, I know there's all sorts of business owners and consultants here that know lots about this subject. They could probably lay out a solution. Then you get some excited people who might know someone and can pull something crazy off that no one thought possible.
Really, right now it's all talk since we don't know much.
One can say it's impossible and prove it or it's possible and prove that. One's more difficult later and one's more difficult now. Ultimately though, we're either standing around describing the fire till the house burns down or trying to save the house.
