Where will the best snow be 2nd week of Dec?

I am planning on heading out west after final exam week and was wondering what places usually have the best snow that time of year? Will most places be ok or should I look at any particular area? Any insight is needed as I need to start making arrangements. Thanks.

Out West? The west is really big. Right now, it looks like the snow is in Colorado. I am sure some areas are doing better than others there as well. Aspen looked pretty good today with more snow expected. I also think the Canadian Rockies have been doing okay. Sierras (except maybe Mammoth), Utah, PNW, Northern US Rockies, not so good.

I would look for the place that is reporting the deepest base depth, & hope it gets deeper when you get there.

Well right now there isn't too much terrain open but apperntly( I go to USAFA but am home at the moment) its dumping there right now with a-basin reporting 15in in the last 24 hours and its still snowing. My recommendation is to go to the resort websites and find the resort with the most open terrain and head there.

Belleayre is the right answer... The Friday after Thanksgiving , my kids and i were skiing boot deep untracked for hours... Yes we had to poach the closed runs , but you gotta do what you gotta do..

Snow

Very little up here, not enough to ski yet.

In my LOOKING endeavors Kicking Horse has a reported 180 cm fallen, 54cm at lodge packed and doesn't look too bad in pics

How about western NY? Holiday Vallley seems to be the big winner for snow!

Look at this website and it will give you the current situation...

Right now a few of the Colorado ski areas got pounded this past weekend...
The forecast shows more snow each of the next 5-7 days...
By mid December its going to be looking pretty good around here...

well as of today Loveland and a-basin are reporting massive amounts of snow with a-basin reporting 35in in the past 3 days and Loveland 35 in the past 2. Man I wish i was there now and not in Ga. Loveland seems to have the most open but I gotta imagine that with that much snow and more forecasted that a-basin will be opening up a lot more pretty soon
