Ok, 2-3 feet on the way. I hope they are right because this pathetic mid December skiff is just plain wrong! (yes, it takes a bit to cover the rocks here)

Next view will be an ocean of white

That's Denis from DCski. He's an unbelievably hardcore skier and puts most of us young'uns to shame. He's retiring in a couple weeks, and bought season passes to MRG, Alta, and a couple places in the mid-A.

What Craig sayed .

Denis ski's bumps in a mono-mark stance, hikes for turns, these turns i think, are at Canaan Resort (that's in WEst Virginia, Garrett) about a month before they opened. Quaker Oats, BWAAAAAA i doubt Denis would eat any oats but steel cut oats, no "instant oats" for Denis.

Ok, I knew when I started this tread that the day would come when we would have more snow than West Virginia.  It came, and the rocks did get covered.

The only bare spot is "the blow hole that ate mtbikegirl"

Empty slopes, lots of snow, even the cornice is taking a ride.  New snow is on the way, and the lifts will be open another month.

This is Winter Park last Wednesday before the huge storm came and added 3 more feet.  Too bad it's closed now.  I'll be at Loveland the next few weekends.  Then, on to A-Basin.

I was just looking at that thinking it was a pretty sweet shot and didn't even realize I took the picture. That sure was a nice mid-November day. What I'd give to go back to that point in the season.....

They got a lot of early snow, that's for sure.  Pity none of it stuck around long as a snowpack.  I remember walking in drifts up to my waist on Nov 21 (opening day) and skiing 10-16" powder on the trails, with temps in the single digits.  Then a week later, day after Thanksgiving in fact, only the trails held snow.  I think it was on/off like that for a couple weeks.  My next time up there was a couple days before Christmas, after a thaw-refreeze, and it was classic mid-A boilerplate.  Still, that was a decent early season.

I think my best skiing in the mid-A was three powder days in early Feb at SS.  In fact they were the best powder days of my season, east or west, and that includes three powder days at JH and another 4-5 at Alta.  WV can rock sometimes!

March 26th we were in Steamboat for a training day the day before the NASTAR Nationals began.  All thoughts of running gates were dismissed when we awoke to this powder dump.  This is a still I captured from a movie I shot that day.

Nice!  Best powder I ever skied at Steamboat was one closing weekend.  Three feet of new in the Shadows.

Holy crap, I just had a flash-back.  I've been having Post-Traumatic Blow-hole sightings all over the place.  And I swear those damn things just keep trying to eat me.  One almost gorged on me in the trees on the NW side above the cat track on the last, dry fluffy powder day a couple of weeks ago.

Last Saturday at Sugarbush - 86 Degrees and a fantastic spring skiing day!

April 5th 2009 at Snowbasin.  A slot between Arrowhead & Y chute, & it wasn't the last powder day either.

May 3rd powder...boot top, nice creamy consistancy.  I helped with the uphill/downhill race but got in several perfect runs before the start. The slow start to the season is a distant memory now.

It's funny...we had great powder on a Sunday, and only three people showed up for first chair.

It was 39 degrees and pouring rain down in town, but the golf course was covered with people, and I saw plenty of soggy cold cyclists heading out.

October I'd just as soon see sunny and warm.

Now those are some real snowgloat pictures... powder on May 13th & not a soul around.  After the dirty snow I skied this morning, I'm jealous.  Gotta luv Bachelor!  I was laughing at the guy who said he was bored by lunch there.
