My wife and I went to Hunter yesterday for som early season turns. We were both pleasantly surprised. About 25 trails with a mixed bag of packed powder, a few mogals and also ice. the sides of the trails had some nice soft snow. Best of all it was the first time that I went to Hunter without any crowds. Overall not bad for the day after Thanksgiving.
Sorry there are no pics, Battery was dead.

david, we were out there yesterday as well; fabulous start to the season. I had my race stock slaloms with a full tune so the scraped off hardpack was awesome. The crowds were ok around 11ish but seemed to vanish after lunchtime 2-3 min max wait for the summit quad. I was reluctant to be out 3 weeks post appendectomy but the conditions got the best of me and I caved! take away the crowds and hunter is a real gem!

Hunter was good today. Decent snow. Good cover. No lines. at least 7 top to bottom ways down. Cliff was especially tasty. Well worth the drive.

I was there on Friday 11/28 as well, it was nice to finally be back skiing again. There were alot of beginners out and I even saw parents (well dad's) taking their kids down the steeper runs in a wedge.

That was interesting, since most of the steeper trails were skied off.

I figured it must have been something serious. Poor kid that had to be scary. Glad to hear he's ok! BTW do you know if he was wearing a helmet?
