I know that this will most probably concern Mr. Prickly and me mainly, still...
I plan to go up to Made this coming Saturday, last minute decision, to open the season testing my new skis (birthday+Chrsitmas present from my family).
If anyone will be there, just show up.
Mr. Prickly, will you be there this week end?

Apologies, due to personal reason I had to cancel my day over there...
What bugs me is that this past week end in Made the prices were discounted while in the neighbouring station (Chiesa Valmalenco), the ticket were free for the whole week end (it was opening week end)

131 when exactly will you be there?

I had plans with my brother to go to someplace snowy but due to circumstances we needed to stay home

I read Madesimo received over a metre of fresh snow though...

(I still want to see pictures )

Well, Fabio, welcome to Epicski!

Why don't you introduce yourself to the Bears here

As to the assertion that Madesimo isn't the best ski resort in Italy, certainly there are better reaosrts but it's all in the eye of the beholder.
I've skied the Dolomites (Canazei, Predazzo, Colfosco and all the Alta Badia) for years, but also the Valle D'Aosta (Champoluc and Gressoney), Passo Tonale, Mont Blanc, Austria (Galtuer), Switzerland (Corvatsch, St.Mortiz, Andrematt)
And from my home it's the nearest (less than 2 hrs at the right time of the day) resort (no toll to pay for the motorway) which can offer "all". Saturday the powder layer was tight deep.
Canalone was a bump run but all the "open" fields around it were a joy to ski on!
So, bump runs, powder, some very small cliff to play with, groomers of varynig degrees of difficulty and, very nice people to ski with, all in one resort of Madesimo dimensions aren't very easy to find.
I take what each place has to offer and enjoy it as much as I can.

Ah, we cut it up on Saturday! Both Mr Nobody and I SUCK at taking photos, we have discovered. So, yes, this thread is worthless without pictures. But it was SO much fun skiing with our friend and fellow bear. Glad to be able to show him a good time (though he knows the hill quite well already). The Friday poachers got most of the goods after the last storm, but Nobody and I still got some nice, light, thigh-deep untracked. Nothing to complain about!
