Eureka! - Correct fitting boots do make a difference!

I have been skiing since I was 14 and have never had correct fitting boots until now at age 23! At the urging of all of you on this forum I sized down in boot size, knowing that the boot will pack out over time. On to the results!

My entire season last year I skied on Head Monster iM77's and while they were good skis they left something to be desired, or so I thought...

I strapped into Salomon Impact 10 ski boots at the end of last season. After endless questioning of members here, and $550 later I am now the proud owner of correct fitting ski boots.

Season # 2 on the Monster's and first time out, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! These skis have come to life! Every subtlety that I am making with my feet are automatically transferred to the ski/binding system. So this is what skiing should feel like! The energy, the rebound, the confidence just keeps building! I found myself cruising down steeper slopes that would have caused my heart to skip a beat last season. Now my heart is skipping a beat for an entirely different reason

So as much as this is a review for my Salomon Impact 10's, it is a review for my Head Monster 77's as well. They really come to life at medium to high speeds and have just the right amount of energy and rebound built in to carve hardpack with ease, blast through crud with aplomb, even carve on ice.

To sum up:

Salomon Impact 10 - Comfortable, warm, perfect fit
Head Monster iM 77 - solid, energetic, confidence inspiring and great for 70% of the conditions that I will run into.

Cheers

isn't it great when the steering wheel is attached to the car?

This is the hardest part of my job. Convincing even experienced skiers that their boot WILL pack out and gain 1/3 to 1/2 a size seems impossible.

I'm glad you got things figured out. Where will you be spending the season? There in CO?

Indeed I will be spending the season and the forseeable future in CO! Just praying for snow.
