Briko helmets - available in US?

I need a new lid. Liked my old Briko. Anybody know where I can track down a new one. I checked the Briko website, and the only "US" shop they listed was in Toronto (I didn't know we had annexed Canada ).

search on Stratos and Kimera, the race supply shops should have them.

Hello- We ordered Briko the past 2 years both direct from Italy and with their agents and both times they failed to ship- it is now over 6 weeks past our cancel date and they still have no idea when our helmets and goggles will be shipped! Despite an order placed last February and a confirmation received in April. They have a new "agent" in Canada who also "distributes" ( and I use the term loosely ) Besson skiwear which also is 6 weeks late. 3 years they have not been able to deliver complete. To me now its 3 strikes and you are out. We would be their largest dealer in the USA ( Ski Racing Development - srd1.com). Next time I will just order more POC and Halti! I would rather support a professional company.

We will leave nearly $30,000 in pre-orders/orders to customers unfilled. Such is ongoing history of these 2 brands- pathetic.

Aren't they owned by Luxotica? You'd think they could figure this out.

Luxottica/Type 20 sold Briko

Really too bad. Briko has made some great products over the years. I still have a few pairs of ZAR goggles, and my son finally had to give up a carbon fibre Evolution helmet last year. Both my kids are now working with other helmet companies, and would love to buy {yep, buy} Briko. SRD, if I read this properly there is no legitimate North American distributor? I would agree that this is the type of thing that you'd think they could get fixed. Seems so simple, but obviously it's not. It has to be a huge aggravation for you.

I am certain they simply do not care about the US market- I have lost count of all the distributors they had since the late 1980's. Imagine its almost December 1st and they still don't have their race helmets (Kimera) produced.

That's what I was thinking. And they don't have the CHROME one anyway.

So... they are available in the US. I went down to Edgewise in Stowe village to try on Uvex, POC, etc. and they had just gotten in their shipment of Brikos.

Turns out they didn't fit me. Felt like the old Giro Streif where the earflaps don't come down far enough and pinch my ears. I ended up dropping 2 bills on a Dainese helmet.

Did they have the Kimera Carbon Race helmets? Those are the ones we ordered. $200 on the Dainese! We offer the new top of the line model Squadra Corse for $179!

Yeah, but I can't try yours on! Anyway, they didn't have Kimera (but they're on order) she said that the ones they do have bear very little resemblance to the samples they had when they ordered. They sure don't have anything like the shape of my old Forerunner or Windshape.
Yeah, I had a Windshape-type World Cup graphite thing I loved and could not replace. Had to get the Streif, but it's just a tad loose and I have to wear a balaclava under it.
This is a very informative thread, as my Windshape is in need of replacement sometime this season. I'd heard from the folks at Edgewise that they'd received Brikos, but it's sad to know that the new stock isn't built on the same headform - Briko was the only brand that fit my head worth a spit.

Guess I'll nose around in southern Vermont tomorrow to see what's out there. Got two days of skiing coming up (Stratton and Mt. Snow), so the shops around those areas will get some snoopage. I can always check out Edgewise over Christmas.
I think the older Stratos model fits more like the Windshape- the new race Kimera is a new fit- though with Briko you can never be sure. We are still waiting for our Kimera Carbons!

We officially canceled our Briko order today- just ridiculous how we could not get a straight answer from their agent. I have been in the industry 25 years and never seen such incompetence. 3 years in a row they could not deliver- 3 strikes and you are out.

Lesson learned - I will just order more POC next year, they are professionals.

it is really too bad they struggle so much! Great product! I love my WC Forerunner! But it is getting old!

I was gonna get a POC, but Richie-Rich said I'll die if I do.

Actually, I didn't get one because you can't hear anything when wearing one. My friend calls his "the dome of silence".

Yep. Reminds me of the bad-old JOFA days. Why do those Swedes hate hearing?
