What to do? Wrong bindings sent on my skis!

I just got my Dynastar Contact 4x4's in the mail today.

I purchased them off of ebay. Pictured were the skis and the appropriate 08/09 Look Px12 Fluid bindings...

I got my skis in the mail and they have the 2007/2008 Look Px12 bindings (which were NOT pictured).

I have emailed the seller...and now my emails are bouncing already!

What, if ANYTHING can I do???????????

If you paid by credit card, dispute the charge. If you paid by paypal, follow the ebay complaint process. You're screwed if you paid by paypal and seller has taken all the funds out of his account.

I paid by paypal....I am irritated...

Realistically the skis will be fine, as will the bindings...but I'm sick of being screwed over via ebay

That is easily fixed...

Should I ask for a refund? or a new set of bindings? I would prefer the correct bindings.

Any suggestions on the price of the refund?

(They paypal dispute section has a check box for $$amt of refund to ask for)

Dude, I'm looking at my Contact 4X4 as I type. These are integrated bindings. How can you have the wrong bindings ?

The base plate is correct, which comes with the ski, however the Px bindings which slide ON and OFF are not.

The ones which were SLIDE on mine are the 2007 model (orange and black) and not the 08/09 gray/black model

it is not so much aesthetics i am concerned about, but that I paid more than what they are worth

Not necessarily. I got reimbursed from PayPal when an eBay seller sent me an empty package (partly USPS to blame) then wouldn't resolve the issue. It took about 6 weeks of stuff like having to send the package back registered mail and proving I had multiple attempts to contact the seller and the seller refused to refund. PayPal remedied the issue in the end and the seller got off scott free.

OK, now I get it. I have the gray/black on my 4x4. I also have the orange Fluids on my Contact 11's.

For some crazy reason... you have been supplied the wrong color/model. I would guess they schould function equally, but that may not be the case.

I would complain to Paypal & eBay, these are not standard.

You could leave negative feedback.

Unfortunately, I was so excited to get the skis, and they looked great that I gave positive feedback...

only AFTER did I realize these are entirely the WRONG bindings.

I don't think it was a "simple mistake" unfortunately....especially with emails bouncing back to me...

The only good thing is that the seller is STILL selling other items...so they haven't packed up shop.

I have filed my complaint...I guess time will tell as to what happens.

No. The good thing is that, functionally, you have the correct binding.

I don't mean that as a slam. If I were in your shoes, I'd be equally pissed and would likely also file a complaint. But, at the end of the day, you still have a killer ski/binding package so don't be too bummed.

Oh for sure, I realize that I am not totally down the creek. I know that these are still skiable sticks and can use them this year.

I just don't like getting scammed on ebay. Mostly, because it hasn't been the first time...

We will see what happens of the complaint....

I guess for now I have a "rare" set of Contact 4x4's w/ ORANGE Look Px 12 bindings....oooohhhhhh

maybe your local Dynastar dealer can help you ?

Heard back from the seller...

He seems "shocked" that those bindings are not the 08/09 model. He tried telling me Look/Dynastar made orange bindings this year too. I have spent some time researching these skis before purchasing them and the only two binding options were the earlier gray/black Look Px12 Ti Fluids, and now the Look Px14 Ti fluids...there is NO orange option.

this could get interesting...

LOL, I got mt 4x4 from Dawg in April, one of the first pair sold at retail. As I said, mine are black.

I don't think this is all that difficult really. You have the right binding model in the wrong color. If the color bothers you....seek resolution, if it doesn't, dont.

Things might work out after all. The dealer is much more helpful after sending some pictures. Seems though that perhaps orange ones are made this year, but I still recieved teh wrong binding, got a non 'Ti' version.

He is going to send out a 'Ti' version for me.

phew...
